Bomba Estéreo - "Amar Así"

A driving reggaeton beat plays over gorgeous aerial footage of an island off the coast of Colombia in this new LGBTQ-themed video by Bomba Estéreo. Wrestling boys very literally paint a picture of the struggle between masculinity and vulnerability. According to band member Simón Mejía, the music video also doubles as a statement of resistance in the wake of the inauguration of right-wing Colombian president Iván Duque.

“The world is passing through a crazy time,” Mejía says. “Not only in Colombia, but all around it seems like extreme conservative policies are taking over and it is pretty scary. As artists, our only weapon is to keep on pushing the opposite way. We are trying to remind everyone that the world should be a place where there [is] no prejudice for sexual orientation, race or religion. Maybe then, we will be a better society.”
