Birdie Harrelson puts a popular harvest season twist on the traditional New England whoopie pie by filling hers with pumpkin-flavored cream. The Edibles host is joined by cannabis consultant, business strategist and Dosist Compliance Leader Brett Hartman-Payan, who helps cannabis businesses stay compliant with state and federal laws as his bread and butter.
Speaking of which, this recipe is chock full of infused butter made with the MagicalButter machine, Birdie’s favorite tabletop cannabis pressure cooker. Birdie explains to Brett the importance of sifting dry ingredients as the two whip up a batter for the whoopie pie’s cookie ends.
Brett tries to talk science to Birdie, who calls him a “nerd” and continues on with the baking. Once the cookies are out of the oven and cooling, it’s time for the pumpkin filling, which is made using a base of cream cheese and infused butter. Pumpkin, nutmeg and cinnamon round out the seasonal treat, which has Birdie so excited that she says she’s ready to “make whoopie, yeah?”
“It’s been a really long time since I’ve made whoopie with a woman,” Brett responds before digging in.
