When Jeremy Scott dropped his Barbie-themed Spring 2015 collection for Moschino, it was an instant hit, particularly with fashion bloggers like Chiara Ferragni, who committed to the hot-pink looks from head to toe, at least for about five minutes. The pieces were perfect fodder for street-style shots snapped outside the shows, but what about the masses? Who among us was willing to spend hundreds of dollars on a “funny” sweater you’ll realistically wear a few times before wanting to never see it again?
Two years later, Missguided has the answer for those who want to get in on some Mattel action without forking over buckets of cash. The U.K.-based label has collaborated with the monster toy brand on a perfectly playful and perfectly priced 43-piece capsule collection just in time for mid-summer. Nothing is above about $80, and Missguided calls it “streetwear reimagined for the modern female,” which translates to a mostly black, white and of course, pink palette of swimsuits, bodysuits, distressed denim and oversized T-shirts emblazoned with the doll’s highly recognizable logo. Velour sweats, quilted separates, elements of camouflage and even a leather fanny pack are also in the mix. The best part: Nostalgic, not-serious pieces like this are meant for loving and leaving, and at this price point, you can do just that guilt-free.
Available at Missguided for $6 to $78.
