GET Eden Extracts

April 25, 2018

Vape pens: If you’re a toker on the go and need something discreet and quick to get that pre-lunch high, these are probably nothing new to you. In fact, you’ve probably tried more than you care to remember.  Some were probably pretty good, and others… well... some people are just happy to get a free cartridge filled with questionably smokable oil and a combustible wick. Can you say “tastes like burning?”

Although the specifics of the vaping experience differ between brands, the industry is largely making a shift toward high-end, connoisseur-grade vape pens and cartridges. Eden Extracts is one of the brands leading the movement with its new lines of batteries, cartridges and PAX Era Pods.

Upon first holding their brand-new Diamond Line battery and Pink Champagne cartridge, two things become immediately apparent. First, this vape is beautifully built, and with a white chrome-plated alloy mouthpiece, the unit has a nice weight that reflects the quality of the build. Second, Eden Extracts clearly recognizes the importance of airflow. The battery has four vents, the sides of the mouthpiece have two, and the openings for the wick are large and many—that alone is enough to excite before even taking the first hit.

Turning on the vape is pretty standard: five clicks of the battery button and away you go. But be warned, it’s easy to get carried away on your first session. With virtually no resistance, your first instinct is to keep pulling because you don’t think it’s hitting. It’s definitely hitting, and it hits like fresh bud. Eden uses CO2-extracted, pesticide-free distillate and strain-specific, cannabis-derived terpenes for the best flavor and high. The difference in taste between plant-derived and cannabis-derived terpenes is easily distinguishable: The plant-derived terps are mixed together in an attempt to “recreate” a flavor, while the cannabis ones deliver a natural flavor because they come directly from the source.

The half-gram of Pink Champagne oil is super clear with a near light-pink hue, a strong indicator that the distillate used is high-quality and pure. The high is crisp, clean, and grog-free thanks to the ceramic heating element and Japanese cotton wick that ensure each hit is just as tasty as the last. The quartz glass is tough and holds up from repeated drops.

Overall, this is one of the best experiences you can have with a vape pen, including the connoisseur-grade products. The feeling of the pen screams quality, and the taste and high go above and beyond to back up that claim. The ease of use and ventilation make each hit something to crave. I can't wait to try more strains!
