I thought I had retired from smoking bongs several years ago when I started dabbing concentrates more regularly, but I must say off the bat that I was happy to come out of retirement to try the new Silicone Beaker from Eyce Molds. As it stands, this bong is a pretty basic beaker-style bong with a diffused downstem and glass slide, but it comes without the risks of expensive glass pieces that break your heart and wallet when something or someone awful comes along and destroys them. That being said, this piece is made from bright swirls of colorful platinum-cured silicone, which is some of the highest quality available. You can tell right when opening it—there are no foreign or weird smells, it has a very nice feel and the beaker is surprisingly sturdy for its size.
After taking it out of the case, one of the first things you notice is the section that pulls out from the bottom to reveal a hidden stash jar, dab pad and even a little dabber/poker tool, which is super helpful when cashing out those bowls. However, due to the stash jar taking up a portion of the beaker, there's a little less room for water so make sure not to overfill it or you’ll be tasting some fresh bong water after that first rip.
The piece hits really well and even has a built-in ice catcher, which made that first rip in a long while very, very smooth… just like the old days. Once you’re done reminiscing, use the magnetic lighter holder near the downstem to pass it to your homie so they can take a trip down memory lane, too.
The Eyce Silicone Beaker is available for $69.99 here.
