There’s a heated debate going on right now. Fine, it’s not heated, but anything relating to Robyn Rihanna Fenty tends to come with a degree of heat. The pop icon-turned-entrepreneur just released her long-awaited, hotly (there’s that word again) anticipated beauty line, at about the same time she showed her motocross-themed Spring ’18 collection for Puma at New York Fashion Week. Both have scored rave reviews.
As for the Sephora-exclusive products, everyone is flipping out over the Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter, a cream-to-powder hybrid for glistening skin, particularly in Trophy Wife, a banging gold hue. They’re freaking over the Match Stix Shimmer Skinstick, which offers beach-goddess vibes on the go, and the Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer is being lauded for its ability to flatter every skin tone. Plus, most of the packaging is magnetized so the containers literally stick together, which is a pretty genius marketing tactic.
But it’s the Blotting Paper that has people talking. Accurately described as “a set of ultra-portable blotting papers in a super-chic, refillable mirrored compact that looks like a lipstick case,”they’re clearly great for absorbing oil while keeping your makeup pristine. The question is: Do they double as rolling papers? Made with natural botanical fibers, they’re packaged as a continuous scroll so you can tear away the custom-length sheet of your choosing, possibly for your face or a joint. Twitter fans have spoken, and they seem to think so. It might be a stretch, but it’s a logical stretch given Rihanna’s outspoken love for cannabis. Then again, a few have tried and said the paper burns insanely fast so please don’t try to smoke it. Who’s to say?! Well, whatever you decide to do with these papers, Rihanna has scored yet another win with her latest venture.
Fenty Beauty by Rihanna is available exclusive at Sephora and you can pick up the Blotting Paper for $16 a pop.
