Fresh off a capsule collection inspired by Led Zeppelin, the iconic sneaker brand Vans is now paying homage to another music legend: David Bowie. Celebrating the life and legacy of this truly immortal artist, the brand has presented a new collection of unisex footwear and apparel for adults and toddlers.
A bit eccentric just like the artist himself, the collection references iconic Bowie imagery throughout his career, from “Space Oddity” all the way to his final album, Blackstar. As Vans explains, it “celebrates two entities who have championed the different and the strange for decades, leaving a lasting impression on generations of misfits.”
Among six new sneakers designs, standout pieces include the spectacular Sk8-Hi Platform 2.0, the bright red and shiny Vans paying homage to Bowie’s glam rock alter-ego Ziggy Stardust, and Vans’ Old Skool, featuring the iconic red and blue lightning bolt from the Aladdin Sane album. You might pair this up with the Ziggy Stardust-inspired t-shirt or the long-sleeve t-shirt referencing the Serious Moonlight tour.
Since it’s never too early to be cool, models Sk8-Hi Zip and Old Skool V are also available for the youngest of the Bowie fans.
The limited-edition collection, with a price range between $26 and $85, is available now in select Vans retail stores and online.
