RE/MX: High Fidelity

John Butler's "Used To Get High For A Living"

This fun rock bop from the Australian band John Butler Trio mixes the casual, beachy jam sensibility of Jason Mraz with anti-consumerist lyrics that wouldn’t be out of place in a Rage Against the Machine song (admittedly, a low-key one). The Californian-born Butler leads the eponymous trio, which has been around with a rotating cast since ’98 and won numerous ARIA (Australian Recording Industry Association) Awards and accolades from the Australasian Performing Rights Association (ARPA).
