The Premiere of Common Kings' "One Day" Video

PRØHBTD is proud to premiere the video for "One Day," the title track from Common Kings' new EP. Infused with island energy and crossover pop appeal, "One Day" is the musical equivalent of a reggae beach party, and it finds frontman JR King enthusiastically singing, "Light the spliff, take a rip, we gonna dance till the morning come." The video embraces the party vibe with car culture, live-action graffiti art by Los Angeles legend RISK and the expectation of even better times to come.

"The theme is about riches and fame, being young and having fun," says CK bassist Ivan Kirimaua (bass guitar). "The title 'One Day' is a phrase that we think at some point everyone has said out loud while dreaming about the 'luxurious life.' But some of us who will remain nameless—(cough) Matadream about materialistic things a bit more than others."

Released in August, the Common Kings' seven-song EP One Day includes guest appearances from Stephen Marley, Matisyahu, ¡Mayday! and Kat Dahlia as well as an EDM-reggae remix of "Revolution." The EP follows on the heels of 2017's Grammy-nominated Lost in Paradise, which topped the reggae charts and featured tracks like "Mary Wanna" and "License to Smoke."
