RE/MX: High Fidelity

The Struts - "Kiss This"

The Struts frontman Luke Spiller grew up in a Christian home with aspirations of being a professional dancer. To his good fortune, the devil must have interceded with a sweet deal because the charismatic Brit became a rock star instead. And by rock star, we mean a dynamic singer that channels rock gods like Freddie Mercury and Mick Jagger in a decadent glam style that's been described as retro fetishism.

The Derbyshire band is already fairly big in the lands of crumpets and kidney pies, but The Struts are still coming up on the colonial side of the pond. For the uninitiated, the original "Kiss This" video from their 2014 debut (a new video was made in connection with the band's U.S. debut in 2016) is a perfect introduction to the band's flamboyant glam style and songwriting. The track followed The Struts' first breakout single, "Could Have Been Me."

The Struts' sophomore album, Young & Dangerous, dropped in October with singles like "Body Talks" and "Primadonna Like Me." The band is currently on an extended world tour.
